2010 State Convention—“Take Back Minnesota In 2010”
Fellow College Republicans Leaders and Executive Members,
As we enter the 2010 election cycle, there is a sense of urgency from freedom loving Americans to stop the wave of liberalism that is emanating from the Democrats in Washington D.C.This same sense is also present in Minnesota with regard to the Democrats in St. Paul.As such, the Minnesota College Republicans have a great opportunity to be part of the effort to stop that wave by working and helping elect Republicans at all levels of government through Minnesota so we can “Take Back Minnesota in 2010”.So come join other College Republicans as we hold our annual MNCR convention to elect the 2010-2011 leadership of the Minnesota College Republicans.This year’s Convention features a 2010 Republican Gubernatorial Forum, an A- list of Republican and conservative guest speakers, and a Conservative Expo of local and national conservative organizations.I look forward to seeing you there.

On Sept. 29th, 2009 and on Oct. 1st, 2009, former Bush adviser, Karl Rove was brought to both Concordia-Moorhead and St. Olaf Colleges by their respective College Republican chapters. Here is the exchange that took place at the Concordia-Moorhead event. The questioner starts off before the camera was rolling by saying (i'm paraphrasing here) "you talk about Obama and the debt he has ran up but what about the debt". Then the camera starts rolling and she continued by saying "from a war that you and Bush prodded us in that under false pretenses, would that debt be solved if we hadn't gone into that war?" Rove then proceeds with the exchange you will see on the video.
On Saturday September 12th, the Minnesota College Republicans gathered outside of the Target Center in Minneapolis in opposition to President Obama's proposed healthcare reform. College Republican chapters from Northwestern bible college, U of M - Twin Cities, University of St. Thomas, and MSUM - Mankato had members in attendance.
On April 15th, 2009 hundreds of thousands of Americans said enough is enough and decided it was time to take a stand and show the politicians and lawmakers across this country that Americans want a constitutional government with limited powers, the same type that was established by our founding fathers. Not this constitutionally perverted growing federal government with far and overreaching powers that did not come from the US Constitution.
In St. Paul between 8,000 and 10,000 (or a few hundred, according to the Star Tribune, what a joke for a newspaper) Minnesotans showed up and thousands more at other teap parties across Minnesota. The Minnesota College Republicans showed up at tea parties in Duluth, Winona, Mankato, and St. Paul representing over 15 chapters at different colleges across Minnesota.
The 2009 MNCR State Convention was a huge success. We heard from many great speakers, and elected new MNCR Leadership. Go to the About Us Section to find out more, but here is a brief overview.

Minnesota College Republicans representing Hamline University, St. John's University, College of St. Benedict, Gustavus Adolphus College, University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, University of Minnesota - Duluth, Bemidji State University and the University of St. Thomas held a private meet & greet with Governor Pawlenty following his speech at the 2009 Conservative Political Action Conference.
